The weather was perfect, the vendors unique, the food delish, the entertainment outstanding and the holidays celebrated with family and friends on Friday, December 12th at the Smithfield Farmers Market's Evening Market along Main Street in Genuine Smithfield.

The next morning, Dec. 13 begins with the Kiwanis’s Breakfast with Santa at the Smithfield Center followed by our Annual Christmas Parade at 11. Toys for Tots 14th Annual Community Christmas Party & Super Bird Parade!
Special Guest this year for the annual Toys for Tots celebration is Richard Petty's Super Bird AKA The King from the movie "Cars." The Super Bird and several other specialty cars will be parked at the Smithfield Station (415 S. Church Street in downtown Smithfield) this Friday evening from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Then these cars will be given a police-escorted parade to Charlie Daniels Racing (10218 IWIP Road in Smithfield) for the festivities on Saturday!
The Toys for Tots Party is Saturday, December 6 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Charlie Daniels Racing. The car Show entry fee for show cars is $20. Spectators can bring toys for free entry. There will be live music all day, children’s activities, vendors and great food. AND Santa is scheduled to arrive by Nightingale Helicopter at noon!
Beginning on November 1 and through December 10, local businesses throughout the area will be collecting toys for Toys for Tots.

Smithfield’s own Bria Kelly is auctioning off a signed yard sign from her "The Voice" homecoming. Bria was a Top 10 Finalist on “The Voice Season 6” and the homecoming event was held this past May. All net proceeds will be split between a couple great charities here in town, so bid often and bid high!
