#13 James Robert Jordan House 308 Grace Street (1907)
This Greek Revival style house was built for James R. and Nannie Eley Jordan around 1906. James R. Jordan, Esq. was the 1910-1912 Isle of Wight representative to the Virginia House of Delegates and a member of the Board of Visitors of the College of William and Mary from 1909-1920. It is reported that the high arches in the downstairs hallways were built to accommodate “Jim Bob” Jordan riding his horse through the house. The house has 7 fireplaces.
