IVY HILL CEMETERY WALKING TOUR(weather permitting)

This walk is a discussion of the signs, symbols and notable burials in this historic rural cemetery which was established in 1887. Tour is led by local historian Kathy Mountjoy and meets at Ivy Hill Cemetery, 451 N. Church Street in Smithfield.

2nd Saturday of each month, 10 a.m. – 12 noon, March through October

2023: March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10, July 8, August 12, September 9, October 14

No reservations required…just show up at tour time!

$5 per person, children under 12 are free, Cash or check only.

LIFE OF HAM VAN TOUR

This tour traces the history of the ham industry with a special surprise at the end! This is a driving tour that utilizes our Tourism van which can accommodate up to 6 guests comfortably. This tour begins at the Isle of Wight County Museum parking lot, 103 Main Street in Smithfield.

2nd Saturday of each month, 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., March through October

2023: March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10, July 8, August 12, September 9, October 14

Reservations required with at least a 48-hour notice!

$10 per person, children under 12 are free, Cash or check only.

Maximum passengers: 6, Minimum passengers: 4 

Tour cost includes a complimentary ham roll at Darden's Country Store and free admission to the Isle of Wight County Museum. Tour lasts approximately two hours.

ARMCHAIR TOUR OF HISTORIC CHURCH STREET

This tour is available for seniors with mobility issues or in the case of bad weather. The tour will take place at the Isle of Wight County Museum which can accommodate 25 guests.
