Firehouse Bluegrass Benefit Concert
Friday, October 10 at 7:30 p.m., Fire Station 10, 15020 Carrollton Blvd.
Proceeds benefit the all-volunteer fire/rescue service of Carrollton and nearby mutual aid districts in Smithfield and northern Suffolk. $5 admission. Your donations to this non-profit all-volunteer department serve the community by enabling the purchase of needed medical, rescue and fire fighting supplies and equipment. Hot dogs and soft drinks are available during the concert. Please bring your own chair.

Daniels Performance Group Cruise-In
Friday, October 10 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Daniels Performance Group (Charlie Daniels Racing), 20128 IWIP Road, Smithfield
Daniels Performance Group (Charlie Daniels Racing) will be holding evening cruise-ins every second and fourth Friday of the month April through October. Cruise-Ins are open to any vehicle you are proud to show. Food vendors will be From the Hearth Pizza and Rodman’s BBQ. There will be live music/DJs every evening as well as burnout competitions, raffles, a special “Pick of the Week” each event, and much more! Cost to put a vehicle in is $2 and the event is free to spectators. Show a vehicle for a $2 donation to Toys for Tots and Orphan Helpers charities.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Community Breakfast
Saturday, October 11 & 25 from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at VFW Post 8545, 223 Washington Street, Smithfield
The Smithfield VFW invites the community to a fund raising breakfast featuring "Salted Fried Herring Fish," scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits grits, mixed fruits, coffee, juice, cornbread and omelets. Breakfast is held every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. The VFW building is located across from the Smithfield Library. Donation $8. All proceeds go to support Local Veterans and community projects.

This fundraising event, sponsored by IOW Christian Outreach Program, offers an all-you-can-eat meal of soup, ham biscuits, and desserts, and all monies raised will pay for heating costs for those in need during the winter months.
Tickets are $5.00/adults and $3.00/school age children. Many churches have tickets available or they may be purchased Monday-Friday at the offices of Trinity UMC (9:00 am - 2:00 pm) and Smithfield Baptist Church (9:00 am - 5:00 pm).
Tickets can also be purchased at the door that day.
