Windsor Castle Park

Located right in downtown Smithfield, this gorgeous riverside park features 4+ miles of a woodland trail system, orchards, picnic areas, a dog park, a state-of-the-art kayak and canoe launch, a Children’s Natural Playscape playground, fishing pier, scenic overlooks and the Windsor Castle Historic Site. Windsor Castle Park is listed on the Virginia Birding and Wildlife Trail.

The park is available for rent through the Smithfield Center.

 

The Isle of Wight Museum offers guided walking tours of the park. Go to the events page of this website for specific dates and times.

Windsor Castle Park is also available to rent for weddings and other special occasions.

The Smithfield Center

One of the premier conference community event centers in Coastal Virginia.
Groups large and small will find everything you need for a meeting, conference, wedding or banquet at The Smithfield Center. Here you'll find a multi-purpose space for all your special events, featuring a flexible floor plan and the latest in audio/visual equipment. All in a naturally beautiful setting featuring a 2,200 square foot deck providing additional outdoor gathering space and an added dimension to any gathering. Sundays at Four Concert Series

 

Sundays at Four invites you to attend afternoons of fine chamber music performances, featuring professionals and accomplished student musicians, in intimate venues in Smithfield's Historic District.

Now in its 12th season, unless noted otherwise, all concerts are hosted at Christ Episcopal Church, 111 S. Church Street in downtown Smithfield and begin at 4:00 p.m.

Tickets at the door: Adults $20 / Students $5  

The series is a part of the Isle of Wight Arts League.

St. Luke's Historic Church and Museum

St. Luke's, also known as The Brick Church, The Old Brick Church, and Historic St. Luke’s Church, has enjoyed a long and vibrant history supported by a passionate community. Built in the 17th-century, this National Historic Landmark is located four miles south of Smithfield's Historic District.  Explore the grounds of this renowned historic site on a journey through over 400 years of vibrant, American history. St. Luke’s Historic Church & Museum, Virginia’s oldest brick church, now serves the public as a living, breathing symbol of religious freedom with a storied past.

General Admission is $8. Children under 6 offered free admission. Discounts available for seniors, AAA, Military, Educators, and Students. Group Tour rates available. St. Luke's is a Blue Star Museums Participant.

The Old Brick Gift Shop at St. Luke's is designed to highlight unique gifts for loved ones and cherished mementos of your visit at Virginia’s Oldest Church Building.

1750 Isle of Wight Courthouse

The Old Courthouse of 1750 is located in the historic Town of Smithfield. Originally modeled after the Capitol Building in Colonial Williamsburg, the building is beautifully restored. The Courthouse is available any day or time for group tours with prior notice. It is also available for rental for special occasions. 

Wharf Hill Brewing Company

Wharf Hill Brewing Company serves satisfying food, craft beer, wine and spirits for people looking for a comfortable small-town brewpub.

The Sinclair Room, the top floor of the brewery is available for private parties, receptions, live music and other special occasions. It accommodates 45 people sitting, and 60 standing (30 with live music), and features flooring recovered from Fort Monroe and the 1906 stage boards from the Elk’s Hall relocated from the 2nd floor. The room is fully handicapped accessible, and leads to the dining room and bar beyond.

Smithfield Little Theatre

This all volunteer theater troupe has been "hamming it up for over 75 years!" Originally known as the Cotton Gin Theater (it's old building was previously a cotton gin), this regional community theater now boasts a million dollar facility generously donated in 2001 by Smithfield Foods. Three professional-level shows are produced annually along with other special events such as a Holiday performance in December, a children's theater workshop in the summer and more. Season tickets are available as well as tickets to individual performances. Contact the theater or visit the website for performance schedule and ticket information.
