An advanced beginner class. Students will select a shell and use antiquing paints, stains, and fixatives to embellish the piece with color. Instruction will include how to create a hanging device to use as a focal bead. Next students will create a single strand chain using Czech two-hole glass beads and seed beads. Explore several different patterns. Learn how to attach a clasp and focal bead.
This class will focus on using the proper tools, where to obtain materials, skills to create a well-executed closure, and how to attach the chain to a focal bead. Students will also explore different application techniques, stain/paint combinations, and the use of UV light to fix the colors. This project is executed at a fast pace. Students who have taken previous workshops will have no trouble completing the project in the allotted time.
