Do you want to go on a scavenger hunt across Virginia? This summer, you can go on the same outdoor adventures in the book Virginia is for Adventurers by Tara Fisher and participate in mini scavenger hunts inspired by the story!

Weekend #5 of the 2022 Scavenger Hunt across Virginia will include Historic Downtown Smithfield! On Saturday, July 23rd 1pm 3 pm, adventurers begin their scavenger hunt at the Isle of Wight County Museum, located at 103 Main Street.

Participants will get a clue sheet at the starting location. Clues will lead them to a few locations within walking or short driving distance. At some locations, mystery boxes will be hidden in designated areas along the course. At other locations, mystery boxes will be awarded to the first few groups who finish.

Completed clue sheets will be turned in at the Museum to be eligible to enter the grand prize drawing for $250, plus a $2,500 Donation to winner's Elementary School or Library.

There will be a limited number of mystery boxes. If you miss out on a mystery box, you are still eligible for the grand prize. Participants who turn in their completed clue sheet (with their name and contact information at the top) will be entered into the grand prize drawing on August 15.
